A Miniature Battle of Epic Proportions

Over the weekend 48 tanks squared off in a series of battles in a small wooden town near the nations capital. I was embedded in the area and able to document a fair bit of what took place.


Here's an overview of the area before one of the battles began.


Here is the setup prior to a smaller skirmish. As you can see the area was often littered with the remains of previous battles and various unexploded munitions and IEDs.


Some tanks were slightly modified, often resulting in self-destruction.


as night rolled in, the sides challenged eachother by lighting harmless sparks above their homeland.


There was a calm before the storm.


With a flash the battle began.


Noone was quite sure who fired first, but once it began it could not be stopped.


The line between the sides caught fire...


predictably, all hell broke loose...
...and a crazed madman began laughing and repeating "Aw sweet!"

Sometimes airstrikes rained geysers of flammable liquid upon the combatants...


They fought bravely, giving all they had even when they themselves were already engulfed in flames...

After the smoke cleared, there were no signs of life left on the battlefield.










Destruction was total.







All participants went home with all fingers and toes, and I fell down and messed up my camera a bit, but it's under warranty so everybody wins!
